Your Squeeze Page Design can determine if a person stays on your squeeze page or not. There are 5 elements to consider when in the design process of the squeeze page: length, look & feel, placement, components, and call-to-action. We’ll go over each of these points below.

The length of the squeeze page design can differ depending on what you are trying to accomplish. Though most squeeze pages are just one page and end at the fold, some are pages long because they are targeting to Joint Venture partners. The key is to use a simple one page squeeze page which ends at the fold of the website.

The look & feel of the squeeze page design is important is it’s the only first impression you’ll get. Keep in mind that the squeeze page has about 7 seconds to make a first impression. If the page doesn’t look simple to use and read, visitors will bounce from that site to another one. Duly note that white noise may be your friend. People like to scan instead of reading, so put enough white space to do so. If you show someone a long and winded page full of text, nobody will want to read that.

The placement of certain components is pretty essential on the squeeze page design. The heading or headline goes at the top, as reader read from top to bottom and left to right. The headline is direct and to the point with a sub-heading below it.

If using bullet points, be sure to keep enough white space around the text so that it can be scanned quickly. Be wary of the noise you have around the text. Too much distraction can lead visitors away.

  • See these example bullet points
  • It makes it easier to skim the page
  • And easier to get the point across
  • With out too many words or paragraphs
Other components include the most important part which is the call-to-action form. This form has the usual email field to enter in email addresses, but also text in the call-to-action telling the visitor what to do. Do not overtly sell on your call-to-action part. This may turn-off visitors to going to another site. The main rule of thumb is to keep it simple and direct.

A good tip which is heard throughout the Internet marketing community is to use an action sentence as the button instead of “Submit.” Studies and tests have proven that the word ”Submit” doesn’t work as well as something like “Send Me My Free eBook.” Keep that in mind when creating your squeeze page design.
